A fresh breath doesn't require an expensive mouthwash. You only need 4 ingredients and 2 minutes.

Many people use mouthwash for a fresh breath and healthy teeth, as using mouthwash can prevent caries and reduce dental calculus. But mouthwash isn't cheap. So here's a very simple, but effective recipe which will improve your oral hygiene and save you some money.
What you need

500 ml lukewarm water
40 gr Xylitol (birch sugar)
2 teaspoons baking soda
10 drops of peppermint essential oil or spearmint essential oil
an empty bottle
How to make it

Fill the Xylitol and baking soda into the bottle.
The baking soda neutralises the acidity in the mouth and prevents the dental enamel to get damaged by the acidity.
Xylitol can prevent caries as it allows a remineralisation of the damaged dental enamel with help of the saliva. Xylitol can't be metabolised by bacteria that cause caries and therefore takes away the basis of existence of those bacteria.

Fill the bottle with the lukewarm water and the essential oil.

Close the bottle and shake it in order to mix all the ingredients. After a few minutes they have dissolved in the water and your mouthwash is ready to use. Just take a sip after brushing your teeth, rinse for about a minute and then spit out the liquid. Enjoy the nice, fresh feeling!
